Show Mileage and Potential: Rickie has shown with a pro up to 3'3" and she has show mileage in the Adult Hunter divisions and Children's Hunters. Rickie is very easy to get along with and she has a lot of utility. We believe she would be best suited for a child/adult looking for an honest, "point and shoot" 2'-6" mount that they can show today and move up with at a later date. We think she could also be a partnered with an experienced amateur/junior rider looking for a 3' or 3'3" partner.
Under Saddle: Rickie has her own gentle motor, maintains a nice consistent pace and has a rhythmical canter. She is also adjustable and responsive. Rickie is a brave mare that will always go to the jump. She has a good size barrel that takes up a leg nicely.
Trainability: Rickie aims to please. She is smart, retains her training well and has a good work ethic. At shows, Rickie requires minimal prep; just a quick longe in the morning and a light schooling before her classes. She has great lead changes and she doesn't need to see the fences before showing. Rickie is a kind, forgiving, and consistent partner. She has a great brain, is very willing and dependable. Rickie is a gentle mare that is very level-headed and simple to ride with no spook.
Preferred Rider: Rickie has a lovely natural bascule that appeals to the judges. Rickie works hard for her rider and she has a lot of heart. She learns quickly and she loves to be paired with a partner she can trust.
On the Ground: Rickie is well mannered, she loves to be groomed and bathed and she adores attention and treats. This gentle, agreeable mare is very tolerant, has no vices and is a pleasure to have in the barn. Rickie is very easy on the ground. She clips, loads, bathes and ships. Rickie is very well mannered with a content personality.
Temperament: Rickie is a quiet, sweet, affectionate mare. She is easy-going and laid back.
Program: She is currently being ridden 5-6 times a week and jumped once or twice a week. She also does well in a program that is less rigorous. Rickie is an extremely easy keeper. Like all our horses, Rickie receives turnout as weather permits. She is content being turned out alone or with another mild-mannered pasture mate.
