Censation: 2016 Bay Gelding
Overview: Censation is a 16.1-1/2H 2016 Warmblood gelding by Cabardino out of a Rio Grande mare (Click here for pedigree). He has a ground-covering trot and a nice big canter step. He has mileage in the 3' greens with a professional and a child rider. At home, he is very ammie-friendly at 2'6". We believe he has the potential to be a nice 3'3" partner for an adult or child in either the hunter ring or the equitation ring. Show Mileage and Potential: Censation has competed at several "A" venues to include HITS Saugerties and Old Salem Farm. Some of his individual accomplishments include a Baby Green (2'6") championship at Southwest Showdown, a 3' Green Hunter Reserve Championship at Gardnertown and some nice ribbons at NY Horse and Pony. Censation is ready to embark on a new career with a child/adult. Censation is a "been there done that" type of ride in the 2'6" ring and he has mileage in the 3' ring, including handy classes.We believe Censation should have the potential to move up to the 3'3" hunters in 2024.
Under Saddle: Censation is an honest horse with a big stride to get down the lines. He is a kind, dependable, consistent, athletic and willing partner. His advanced flatwork includes the counter canter, collection, leg yields, shoulder in/out, and turn on the haunches. We think Censation will be a great candiate for the equitation ring as his gaits are comfortable to sit, he is easy to stay with over fences and he is handy. Censation carries the energy well and he is adjustable and responsive.
Trainability: Censation aims to please and he learns quickly. He is smart, retains his training well and has a good work ethic
Preferred Rider: We believe he could be a great partner for a child/adult rider that is looking for a kind, willing, consistent mount that has plenty of mileage at 2'6", 2'9" and 3' with the ability to move up. He is brave, dependale, honest and very forgiving of mistakes.
On the Ground: Censation is great to groom, clip, load, tack, lunge and treadmill. Censation is good with the farrier and the vet and he enjoys treats.
Temperment: He is generally quiet, and has a good work ethic.
At the Show: Censation is easy to show and always jumps around the first time. He is a sensible horse that needs minimal prep with little or no lunging. Censation is very forgiving to the fences and will jump from anywhere. He is generally the same horse at home and at the shows.
Program: Censation is currently being ridden about five times a week and schools over fences once or twice a week, depending on his show schedule. He is accustomed to being hacked by a child/adult rider at home. Censation is an easy keeper. Like all our horses, he receives as much turnout as weather permits. He is accustomed to being turned out in either a sand sacrifice paddock or a half-acre grass paddock. He enjoys light hacks in large grass fields or on bridle paths.
